The song is called “Na Base do Beijo” which means on the base of a kiss and I’ve added a video of the song. Let me know what you think. I’ve loved it since I sent to Brazil last year during carnival and it was played all the time.

I stumbled across this great advert that was created for the 2006 world cup and was shown throughout Brazil. The video features Maradona lining up for the Brazilian team and singing the national anthem. When the camera pans to him, it shows him waking up from a dream with cans of Guarana Antartica next to his bed.

At Flip Flop and Away we are obviously fans of Havaianas which come from Brazil but it’s not the only great product from Brazil. My number soft drink is a Brazilian drink called Guarana Antartica, I particularly like the diet one Guarana Antartica Zero. The drink is the second most popular soft drink in Brazil, just behind Coca-Cola. It’s a light, sweet soft drink, that tastes great on the beach.
It’s something that I drink when visiting Brazil and as of the 4th of October it’s now being sold in 180 Waitrose stores in the UK. I strongly recommend you try some.
Even the most optimistic person will probably admit that it’s going to be few months until it’s going to be flip flops weather in the UK, therefore I see it as an excuse to book a holiday somewhere nice and hot. Therefore we’ve got some tips of where you can visit over Autumn;
Egypt – This is probably the best time to visit Egypt as if you go in the UK summer it will be above 40 degrees and closer to 30 degrees at this time of year.
Malaysia – this is a great country to visit, you get a great range of foods, beautiful beaches and sites to see. Also they are opening a Havaianas store next month, so you can add to your Havaianas collection.
Croatia – the great thing about Croatia is that it’s not far to fly to and it doesn’t have the Euro so unlike a lot of places in Europe it’s reasonably cheap.
Brazil – it’s an amazing country to visit but the flights are expensive, you will be paying at least £800 to fly there. Once you are there they have some of the best beaches of the world and of course it’s the home of Havaianas.
As well as being popular in the UK, Havaianas are hugely popular Asia in particular Malaysia. So if you are a fan of Havaianas and live in Malaysia there is great news for you. They are opening an official Havaianas store in Kuala Lumpur in November 2010. The store is opening in the Pavilion Shopping Centre and is going to be one of very few official Havaianas stores in the world. There are currently 2 other Havaianas stores in Asia in Singapore and the Philippines.
At Flip Flop and Away we are always looking to find new and exclusive styles of Havaianas, therefore we’re going to try to visit the store to get some great styles to sell in the UK. They are going to be featuring the latest styles and the Havaianas 2011 range.
Havaianas have annouced that they are going to have a range of World Cup Havaianas. They look great and hopefully we will be getting some in at Flip Flop and Away. Alternatively you can get yourself some Brazil Havaianas for everyones second favourite team.
We like to make the most of our appearance and wear our most flattering clothes. Our footwear should either blend with our outfit or co-ordinate well so the overall look is harmonious. There is a full range of colours available in the Havaiana collection that will provide the opportunity to fine- tune our image.
The colour and style of Havaianas that we choose to wear can influence how we feel about ourselves. For instance, the neutral colours of navy blue and grey are associated with uniforms and respect, whereas brown has a feel of earthiness, friendliness and sociability. Pink on the other hand is feminine, gentle, accessible and non-threatening.
Colours do have their own subtle power, but wearing Havaianas flip flops is also an extremely comfortable experience. All styles are equally comfortable, of a reasonable price and will keep the wearer cool, even in a lively, noisy, upbeat atmosphere such as a Carnival.
Havaianas are produced in one of the poorer regions of Brazil and give gainful employment to about 3,600 people from the local area. Employers have been understandably reluctant to modernise the methods of production for the simple reason that the work-force would have to be cut. However, the increasing popularity of Havaianas and consequent huge demand throughout the world makes it inconceivable that orders will ever dwindle. The Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen is a positive attribute to her home country as she has been photographed wearing Havaianas.
Our Havaiana flip flops are both fashionable and practical. We can do full justice to those with the same colour strap and sole, the Top design, by adding Swarovski crystals. A plain white flip flop may look cold, clinical and colourless, but a Havaiana flip flop always manages to look clean and fresh and creates a strong contrast against dark shades of clothing.
Havaianas have created a set of limited edition flip flops in collaboration with Conservation International. Conservation International is a charity working on preserving the Earth’s resources.
Not only have Havaianas designed a specific range for the collection but it has also pledged to donate 7% of the sales from these flip flops which is estimated to be $100,000 per year. The range of Havaianas for this cause if inspired by Brazilian marine line.
